My story
Based in Launceston, Tasmania, Lisa Millwood, B.Ec, FGAA, DipAppGemVal, brings an unusual combination gemmological and jewellery valuation knowledge, real world jewellery auction experience AND financial expertise to assist her customers.
A successful Financial Adviser for 20 years, Lisa collected jewellery, before establishing the successful online jewellery shop Decoration, in 2016.
Lisa enjoys using her extensive knowledge to help her customers.
Because she understands how the second-hand jewellery market actually works — including auctions, private sales, dealer pricing, resale values and the factors that can dramatically affect what a piece is really worth - she ensures her customers have more options than scrap gold pricing.
Lisa provides independent advice on acquiring, selling, valuing and redesigning antique, vintage and modern jewellery, as well as sourcing rare gemstones and creating bespoke pieces.
She also provides professional valuations for insurance, sale and division purposes.
Lisa’s favourite part of her work is helping people make sense of inherited and gifted jewellery collections — much like the Antiques Roadshow.
She identifies and explains each piece, uncovering its history, significance and value, while giving clients peace of mind that their jewellery has been correctly understood and assessed.
